BACON BUTTIES, CREATIVE CRAFTS, TASTY TREATS AND THE EASTER MESSAGE

If you were out and about in Hanging Langford on Good Friday morning, you might have noticed the tantalising odours of sizzling bacon and fresh coffee; or heard the buzz of excited voices coming from the parish hall.  Inside, there were tables with all manner of children's crafts, from colourful crosses, Easter cards and painted eggs, to edible Easter-related activities, planting mint matchstick crosses on fairy cakes and making chocolate crowns of thorns.  Those who had accompanied the children enjoyed bacon butties and hot cross buns, while their charges created things to take home, to eat and to leave in the church at Steeple Langford.  There was a great team of helpers to put the day together and help out, the men volunteering to don pinnies and keep to the relative safety of the kitchen!  We hope to be able to do something similar again in the summer - watch this space!
